This is an absolutely beautiful strain of guppy developed by Japanese breeders. First time I saw pictures of this fish I made it my goal to obtain a trio. A smaller sized breed, which seems to be characteristic of Japanese bred guppy, they however have impressive finnage, with the dorsal fin being rather large even in females, and some individuals develop extended anal fins. Depending on the lighting, the blue grass can appear metallic turquoise to sky blue, to aqua marine. This particular strain which I obtained from Canadian Quality Guppies in Port Dover Ontario, has a dark blue blotch or swoosh on the body, which is unique to the original Blue grass strain.
